Sneaker Heads

Jeremy Scott x Adidas

Purpuz at Kixpo

While some may look at it as a waist of money, others look at it as an investment in "ART". I didn't realize till recently how big sneaker collecting is. A sight to see, Kixpo is a huge annual event, that began in 2006 as an idea, celebrating the outrageous sneakers and street culture in Dallas, as well as across Texas.

This event not only has shoe vendors but local "home-grown" companies and small boutiques. Before I did the Kixpo event with Purpuz Clothing, as a vendor, I looked at people who bought a bunch of sneakers as "CRAZY"...but now I understand ... it's "Urban Art". These people aren't just hording tennis shoes but cultivating there own form of an "ART Collection".

The Lebron shoe recently came out accompanied with a matching Lamborghini renting for $7000 a day....WOW!!... I really don't know what to say.

Along with the presentation, the event included portfolio reviews and career guidance provided by the JB heavyweights. Ten lucky people selected at random were given a sneak preview of upcoming Jordan Brand sneakers. Another raffle during the evening saw two attendees win a Nike iD session, aided with the guidance of Wong and Mayden. ...read more

Seems as though sneaker heads should be respected for their artistic eye. One things for sure...an outrageous expenses to one person is considered an investment in "Urban Art" to another...What can I say ....
"Urban Poetry".

Check out these other pieces of  "ART"
